The Mechanicsville Ruritans have Decide to End The “Shuk’ n Pul”! Their Annual Oyster Roast and Tractor pull after 36 years!
After Thirty Six Years the Mechanicsville Ruritans Club have decided to stop hosting their annual “Shuk’ n Pul”. Their biggest Fundraising event for years. The event has featured an Oyster Roast and a lawn mower tractor pull (The Shenandoah Tractor Pullers). The event was considered by many the start to the Spring Season and it was the The Shenandoah Tractor Pullers first major pull of the year.
Many Purchased tickets and attended, year after year. The Shuk’ n Pul”! was looked forward to by many because it finally meant It was the first major community event of the year outside.
The Event started small with just the Ruritans and their Families having a small oyster roast and grew to a capacity crowd of over 2000.The event has been held in King William , Mechanicsville’s Hanover Cold Harbor Ruritan Park and Finally the Courthouse Ruritan Park.
The Mechanicsville Ruritans Club thanks all of the people who purchased tickets and attended the event each year. The Club thanks all of the individuals, volunteers and businesses that supported the cause. Without your countless hours of planning, organization, advertising, and running of the annual Shuk’nPul. Without your hard work and dedication, we could have never been able to make the donations. $400,000.00 amount of donations have been made directly from this 36 year event.
The Mechanicsville Ruritans Club are in planning stages for other events. One is a Spring Golf Tournament . Please watch for future advertisement and information.
